Solmeta HomepageI wrote a polite email to Solmeta, explaining the defect and linking to this blog (see last post). I bought the geotagger directly from China over the Solmeta homepage. If I had bought the product via a German (or European) distributor, local laws would apply and I had a two year warranty period, in which I can claim repair or replacement in such a case. Now I am depending on the good will of Solmeta and their customer care philosophy.

I paid 145 USD for the tagger and 35 USD for shipping = 180 USD. That is not cheap and for chinese production prices I should be able to get a sturdy and reliable product for that amount of money.

I am looking forward to hearing from you, Solmeta !
